Tony Masclet, club president and creator of Pitboard
My name is Tony Masclet. I am the president of RC Park, a radio-controlled car club in Erquinghem-Lys, near Lille. Pitboard is the tool I built for it.
RC first, then photography
It all started with RC. In 1998, I created a radio-controlled car forum, Auto RC Web Canal. It grew so much that it became automodelisme.com in 2001, a reference website in France. I later turned it into a non-profit association.
For years, I photographed every competition and published my reports on the site. They led me to write for RC magazines as a freelancer. Above all, they taught me the trade that would become mine: photography.
My trade: wedding photographer
I first worked as an IT manager in communication agencies, for fifteen years. I became a professional photographer in 2012, and have been one full-time since 2014. Based in Tourcoing, I am above all a wedding photographer in Lille and across the Hauts-de-France region.
I have photographed around 200 weddings, candidly, with no stiff poses. I prefer fewer photos, but very beautiful ones. Artificial intelligence only helps with the colour grading of my photos, never to invent an image.
A club that fell asleep between race days
In 2021, I founded the RC Park association, and the track opened to the public on 15 November 2022. Today the club has around 250 members. But between two races, an RC club falls asleep. Drivers run in open practice, and nobody sees their times. I wanted every lap to count, all week long.
Since 2020, I have also been filming RC on my YouTube channel, Tony RC, followed by around 12,000 enthusiasts. And I airbrush my own bodyshells.
Why I created Pitboard
Pitboard reads the club's timing system and publishes the rankings on its own. Every Monday, the Top 15 of the week comes out with each driver's gear. My members look for themselves in the table, and come back to race for places.
Work began on 18 June 2026. Today, Pitboard keeps clubs alive in France, Germany, Spain and Belgium.
Made by a club president, with artificial intelligence
At the club, people often ask me whether I bought this software. The answer is no: I built it myself, with Claude, the artificial intelligence made by Anthropic.
Fifteen years in IT taught me to ask precisely for what I expect from a tool. Artificial intelligence writes the code. I decide everything else. And my son designed the interface of Podium, Pitboard's RC racing game.
